Yksi minun second hand shop -suosikeista Berliinissä on ihanan rosoinen Garage. Siinä paikassa on fiilistä, myyjät kruunaavat paikan mielenkiintoisilla tyyleillään! Hyvä musakin on ehdoton plussa. Siellä ei siis myydä Chaneleja ja Gucceja, eli jos niitä haet niin kannattaa muualle suunnata ja kiertää kyseinen paikka kaukaa, sillä se ei ole mitään hienohelmoille. Jos kuitenkin ymmärrät upeitten kuosien ja ainutlaatuisten löytöjen päälle, niin suuntaa tuonne! Etenkin jos on luova ja on silmää pienille muokkauksille, niin toi on paratiisi. Se on ma-la auki ja on iso, eli aikaa kannattaa varata.

One of my favorite second hand shops in Berlin is Garage. There you can find the perfect Berlin feeling - the deco, the staff and the music, everything matches in in the good edgy Berlin -way! If you are searching for some Chanel and Gucci, then it is not your kind of shop. It´s a paradise for creative people with an eye for customizing clothes if needed. There you can find great prints and really unique pieces. It´s open from monday to saturday and it ´s big, so make sure you´re not in a rush.

Sieltä löytyy sekä miehille, että naisille ja kaiken ikäisille (tosin lastenvaatteista en tiedä?) vaatteita, kenkiä ja asusteita. Myyvät jonkun verran myös uusia kamoja, ne on tosin eriteltynä siellä ja huomaan jo kaukaa (heti kun kokojanki on useampi, heh). Siellä on kilohinta ja sit siellä on jonkun verran hintalapulla varustettuja vaatteita, mutta ne on erikseen yhdessä nurkassa. Kilohinta on 17,99e, hintalapulla varustetuille tulee tosin vähän enemmän hintaa kun esim. hameet on kympin luokkaa. Siellä on sovitusmahdollisuus, eli kalliimpia kannattaa rauhassa sovitella. Minä tosin olen moiseen sovitteluun liian kärsimätön ja tutkailen vaatteen aina silmämääräisesti, sillä tiedän oman kokoni ja kropan mallini pirun hyvin ja virheostoksia tulee harvoin tehtyä, jonkun sortin taito sekin. Siellä on kivastin järjestetty vaatteita väreittäin, niin jos inhoo vaikkapa oranssia niin voi sen kohdan kiertää heti kättelyssä. Keskiviikkoisin on happy hour klo 11-13, kaikki on -30% ja sen lisäksi saattaa olla muitakin erikoistarjouksia sinä aikana. Sinne pääsee helposti U2-metrolinjalla ja jää Nollendorfplatzin pysäkillä pois. Siitä kävelee n. kolmessa minuutissa lyhyelle kapealle kadun pätkälle nimeltä Ahornstraße, Garage löytyy kadun päästä. Katu päättyy umpikujaan ;)

Garage offers clothes, shoes and accessories for women and men (maybe also for kids, I´m not sure about it). They sell also some new stuff. The most of the clothes you buy at kilo -prizes, one kilo is 17,99 euro. There are also some clothes recks with second hand clothes with set prices. The set prices are a bit higher, skirts for example are around 10 euro. They have fitting rooms, so don´t hesitate to try it on. I´m not a fan of trying something on in shops, I´m too restless for that. Thank god I have that "gift" that I only need to see a cloth to know if it´s my size and it fits me well. I can tell you that this is a quite good skill to know the own body and size so well, you never have to stand in lines for fitting rooms for example. The have the clothes sorted after color, so if you don´t like for example orange you can directly go to the next reck. Wednesdays they have happy hour from 11am -13 pm, everything is -30% off and there might be also some other special offers at that time. You get there easily with the U2, take off at Nollendorfplatz and then it´s also a three minutes walk to the short Ahornstreet. It´s at the end of Ahornstraße, there is a dead end ;)

Heillä on myös pari muuta samalla konseptilla toimivaa liikettä, joissa on kanssa häppärit muina päivinä. Yksi on esim. Colors Bergmannstraßella ja siellä on muistaakseni tiistaisin häppäri 13-15. Itsellä tulee pääasiassa vaan käytyä Garagessa.

They have also some other shops in Berlin with the same concept but with different names. One I know you find at Bergmannstraße, it´s called Colors and has also happy hour on tuesdays from 13-15 pm.
